Kindergarten

Elementary Grades (1st-6th)

Secondary Grades (7th-12th)

Elementary  Level (grades K-6)

  • Classes are held in a traditional classroom setting.
  • Typical subjects are Bible, Reading, Spelling, English, Math, History, and Science, taught with a Biblical Worldview.
  • Reading is taught using the phonetic method.
  • Precursive is taught in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, Cursive handwriting is introduced in 2nd grade and continued throughout all upper grade levels.
  • Physical Education classes are held weekly by a qualified teacher.
  • General weekly music instructions are given by a qualified teacher.
  • Library time held once a week.
  • Reading incentive programs held throughout the year.
  • Math Madness held every March to challenge the students in their math facts
  • Classes take field trips throughout the year.
  • Kindergarten Graduation held at end of year.
  • Elementary Field Day is held in the last week of school each year.

Secondary Level  (grades 7-12)

  • Class offerings meet or surpass state graduation requirements.
  • Alls subjects are integrated with a Biblical Worldview.
  • Math classes offered are basic 7th grade Math, Pre-Algebra,   Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
  • English classes include grammar and literature.
  • History classes offered are Pennsylvania History, American History, World Geography, Government and Economics.
  • Science classes taught are Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics.
  • Foreign language classes include Spanish and possibly American Sign Language.
  • Students have required English, history, math, and science classes.
  • Physical Education class provided.
  • Opportunities for participation in fine arts competitions are available each spring.
  • Specialized tests offered are the ASVAB and the NSMQT.
  • Hope Christian School has an active honor society – an official Chapter of the Keystone Christian Honor Society.
  • Students take field trips pertinent to course studies.
  • Diploma is College track.

Other Offerings

  • Students assemble once a week for Chapel on their divisional level.
  • Private piano and instrumental lessons offered for an extra fee.
  • Students may try out for the band.
  • Christmas and Spring concerts held each year.
  • Library has over 8,000 books for all age levels.
  • Speech Therapist and Reading Specialist are provided through the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (LIU) when needed.
  • IOWA Achievement Test is administered to all grade levels, and the CogAT (school ability test) is administered to select grade levels.
  • KCEA academic tests and Creative Writing competition are offered to students in grades 4-12 every January.
  • Spirit Week and Family Fun Night held every February.
